Hale Winter Concert

Well, Don, you’ve done it again! You’ve taken a group of kids and turned them into young musicians! I can so easily imagine these kids in a few years winning awards and going to Jazz Festivals. Heck, I bet some of them will be members of the band at some of my future weddings.

Don Moultrop is the band teacher at Hale and a musician in his own band. His love of music every year gets transmitted to his students. In fact, a few posts ago – I photographed the Nashoba HS band. Many of those musicians had their start with Don.

You can see more at my website gallery The gallery has sections for jazz band, 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands.

Here are some of my favs from the day:

Center School Winter Concert

What a wonderful musical group of kids! The kids at Center School in Stow, Ma were led by their music teacher, Judy Dyer in a concert extravaganza! The third grade led the concert with the wonderful “Child of the World”, a musical celebrating the citizens of the world and their responsibilitlies.

The fourth and fifth grade choruses then celebrated the 20th Century in song. The fourth grade music was from the 1900s-1940s. The fifth grade performed songs from the 50′s through the 90′s. You could hear many of the parents in the audience laughing as they reminisced on both the clothing that they wore when they were the age of their children and rocking to the songs that they knew first-hand from the radio.

Here are some select photographs from the concert. The entire concert (all 3 grades) can be found on my website gallery at the Online Gallery.

NRHS Winter Concert

Nashoba High School – Bolton, Ma – presented their annual Winter Concert on February 6th. These young musicians’ talent was welcomed by everyone in the audience. Toe-tapping, heads swinging … and that was the audience!

The Intermediate Jazz ensemble performed Porch Swingin’, Lazy Daze and my personal favorite – Senorita Fajita. Below are some photographs. There are more photos of the Advanced Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band on my website Community page. Reprints or downloadable images (for Facebook, Myspace, etc) can be ordered at my photocart.
