Nashoba Drama – Beauty and the Beast

A cast of thousands … well, no not quite … more like 40, but when you added the audience – children, seniors and everyone in between waving their red glowing roses to transform the beast – you have all the makings of a wonderful performance! Disney’s classic truly came to life this past weekend with a special arrangement with Music Theatre International and Nashoba Drama. Belle, played by Emma Romasco, wowed young audiences in the weeks preceeding the play at local libraries where she read to the children while in costume. The excitement thus began for these kids even before they entered the auditorium. Belle was completely believable as a fairy tale “princess” in the truest sense of the word. A masterful performance of the Beast by Eric Watterson – what an incredible voice has been given to this talented actor – as he goes from prince to beast and back to prince. Gaston, played by Nick Sestito, was full of his charisma. Wonderful performances – with plenty of laughs and site gags – by Mrs Potts (Angelina DeSocio – with her outstretched arm resembling a spout), Cogsworth (Alex Llanso – I will never forget his discovering the key – wasn’t he too wound tight?), Miranda Doutch as Madame de La Grande Bouche (wonderful!!!!) Maurice (Colin King – I loved his costume and contraption), Lumiere and Babette (Oo-La-La! mais oui! Tyler Plaskon and Katie O’Toole). The Silly Girls were so funny (I still laugh at how they were so enamored of Gaston! – Emily Castner, Lexi Murtha and Ariella Honig) And Chip (Lyndsey Hawkes) had me staring for nearly the whole performance as the head in the cup (and no body in sight! How did they ever do that?) Ryan Bonner as Monsieur D’arque displayed wonderful vocals. Marcus Sardella as Lefou had me in stitches the whole play – he is headed for a career in comedy. And this play would not be complete without the supporting ensemble, wolves (scarey as they attacked in smoke) and townspeople – all of whom were enthusiastic, believable and just plain talented! The Man Who Came to Dinner

The latest in the Nashoba Drama Club’s presentation got off to a rousing start this Friday at the opening of The Man Who Came to Dinner. It’s a must-see and will be presented again tonight and tomorrow at the Nashoba HS auditorium. Nick Sestito is again at his best playing Whitehouse, a quirky rich magnate with LOTS of connections. Beth Rogers just was masterful in her role of the mysterious elderly sister of the hosts, the Stanleys played by Miranda Doutch and Josh Sherman. Christian Owen was wonderful introducing his cockroaches … and Banjo … what can I say about the hilarious performance by Ben McNally! Heather Cannon, Eric Watterson, Lexi Murtha, Colin King, Ariella Honig, Stephanie Dodge, Marcus Sardella, Emma Romasco, Angie DeSocio, Nico Hammill… the list goes on … the entire cast once again shows us what drama can be! Cranberries, cranberries and more cranberries …

Harvesting time in Massachusetts – my favorite scenic spot is with the cranberries on the South Shore of Massachusetts. These shots were taken in Wareham, Ma at the Cranberry Festival held by Ocean Spray and HD Makepeace. While the sun was glaring … these colors are true!

Grace and David – The Marriage of Best Friends

Grace and David beat the odds on a gorgeous day for an outdoor wedding at the Boston Marriott Newton. This wedding is destined to be one of my all-time favorites (now I have to update my header on the main website, where her sister Jessica has been headlined!) Both Grace and Dave are two of the most personable people that I have ever met and are so deeply in love that it was an absolute joy to be their photographer along with my friend Angela Napolitano. This is going to be a fun album to design – promise to put it up here when it’s done! Grace and Dave did something that few newlyweds do – they decided to maximize the time for photographs by foregoing the tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony with instead a “first look” session. While their best friends and parents looked on from a distance, Grace and Dave came together for the “first look” and then followed this with a romantic walk together. Angela and I accompanied them on the walk and got plenty of the romantic together shots of the two of them. If you are reading this and have not yet gotten married, you might consider doing the same when it comes to your turn! Not only does this maximize the time to actually get those kind of shots, but it also frees you up to go to your own cocktail party and mingle with your friends!

Hudson Balloon Fest 2011

Matt and Tina wedding at the Littleton FD

Matt and Tina had the most beautiful wedding this weekend at the Gazebo beside the Littleton Fire Department where both Matt and Tina worked. The rain did not deter them … Tina arrived by a fire-engine that had sirens blairing! Matt will be deployed to Afghanistan shortly and the entire town of Littleton showed up to show their support and love. The reception held at the Franco American in Westford was packed to capacity as everyone went to celebrate the local heroes.

Potter and Clay, 50 Years

Celebrating fifty years of consecrated life as Felician Sisters, Sr Patricia Marie Iagrosso and Sister Mary John Fryc were radiant as they assembled with friends and family in Enfield, Ct. “In the Potter’s hands, we have been shaped, molded, fired and glazed … and He has gilded us in GOLD. To a packed Chapel, the Felician Sisters Choir and soloists Annemarie and Christina Haines were in truest form: Abba, Abba Father, You are the potter, we are the clay, the works of your hands!
